Indian Institute of Science is all set to conduct Graduate Aptitude Test Examination (GATE 2016) on January 30 to February 07, 2016. GATE is held for testing the comprehensive understanding of various undergraduate subjects in engineering and science.
GATE is an Online Computer Based Test (CBT) for 23 papers. The online paper will have some questions; the numerical answers for the same must be keyed in by the candidate using the virtual keypad. All the remaining questions would be in multiple choice question formats.

At this stage aspirants might be busy preparing for the exam and making short notes which can be referred to a day before the exam. To minimise the GATE exam pressure, here are some preparation strategies which will surely help the aspirants to leave the exam pressure easily.

  • Never read too many books for the same topic. This will simply kill your time.
  • Always refer standard books or notes prepared by you.
  • If you are fortunate enough to have good teacher, stick to the class notes and spend your time at home practicing questions.
  • If you are starting a new topic, always solve simple questions first. This will clear your concepts and increase your confidence.
  • Solve all the previous 10 years questions thoroughly.
  • Rather than solving five questions on similar concepts, it is better to solve one question with five different methods. It gives knowledge about the shortest method to be used.
  • Focus on concepts because questions are based on the basic concepts and do not require much calculation and the questions framed are new (more than 90%) and they are not directly copied from any particular book.
